Investments in the Fund for Alcuin support what you see every day at Alcuin School—children thriving in a place of growth, enrichment and excellence.
We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our Parent Community, Grandparents, Board of Trustees, and Staff. Your gifts to the The Fund for Alcuin provide an incomparable Montessori and International Baccalaureate educational experience for our students.
 
The Fund for Alcuin provides critical support for the school’s operating expenses which are not covered by tuition revenue. Each year it covers close to 2% of this gap.

  • How Does Your Gift Help Alcuin Students?

    • We strive for 100% participation from our Board, Staff and Faculty, and Parent Community. This level of participation lends vital support to our case statement when applying for grants from foundations or other major donors.
    • Your gift helps bridge the gap between the cost of tuition and the actual cost of educating each child at Alcuin.
    • Your gift supports various aspects of the Alcuin experience which make it the exceptional educational program every child deserves.
  • How Does Your Gift Align with Your Passion for Giving and Educational Vision?

    You have the option to designate your gift to fund certain initiatives such as:
    • Enable a Faculty member to partake in Professional Development opportunities that can then translate into an innovative educational experience for their students.
    • Subsidize the Performing and Fine Arts departments.
    • Enhance the Technology and Innovation at Alcuin to keep students on the cutting edge of the tech world.
    • Provide support for the Athletics and Physical Education departments.
    • Continue to augment and upgrade our Environmental Education Program.
    • Provide funding for Diversity Initiatives to ensure that every student, parent, and staff member has a voice on campus.
     
    Gifts to the Fund can also be designated to the Area of Greatest Need where the school can use its discretion to fund the most pressing needs.
  • Leadership

    We are honored to have Kate and Todd Watson as our Chairs for our 2023-2024 campaign to support The Fund for Alcuin. Kate and Todd are parents of Sydney, class of 2021, and Abby, class of 2024.
     
    Our goal this year is $450,000. This is the amount needed to close the tuition gap for all students for the 2023-2024 school year.

    All gifts are tax deductible and can be paid by cash, check, or online by clicking the button at the top of the page. We also accept gifts of stock or from Donor Advised Funds.  In addition, we are able to process payments with MasterCard, Visa, AMEX, and Discover.
     
    You can also pledge your gift for payment later in the year. If you wish to make a pledge to The Fund for Alcuin, please contact Jana Haigood at jana.haigood@alcuinschool.org or 972-239-1745. All pledge payments for the 2023-2024 year are due by Friday, May 17, 2024.
     
    Continued generosity from our Parent Body, Alumni, Alumni families, Grandparents, Board Members, and Faculty has had an enormous impact on the educational journey of our students.

  • What is The Fund for Alcuin?

    Alcuin School’s Annual Fund is a vital source of revenue and is a critical aspect of the school’s fundraising efforts. Every dollar raised directly benefits all our students from Toddler through Upper School and ensures the highest quality experience, in both academic and co-curricular programs.
  • Why does Alcuin School need the Fund for Alcuin when parents already pay tuition?

    Tuition revenue alone is not enough to sustain the quality of an Alcuin School education. Seventy-three percent (73%) of tuition revenue is for faculty and staff salaries and benefits, leaving only twenty-seven percent (27%) for technology, facilities, classroom and administrative expenses. In order to continue to provide excellence in programs and facilities, the School relies on donations from the Annual Fund. Your gift to the Annual Fund is tax-deductible, whereas tuition is not. Your Annual Fund gift may also qualify for a matching gift from your employer, which will allow you to at least double your support of Alcuin School.
  • What other benefits can Alcuin School realize from 100% community participation?

    When schools approach foundations and charitable trusts, a significant criterion for awarding these grants is the level of support shown by the parent community. Alcuin School has submitted a number of proposals and are honored to have been awarded nearly $1MM.
  • How much should we give?

    It is our hope that Alcuin School will be your family’s top philanthropic priority. Individual gifts to the Annual Fund range from $5 to $20,000 or more. Only you can decide how much you wish to commit. We ask you to remember that your contribution, along with those of all our donors, will directly enhance the students' Alcuin School experience. We believe that every member of our School community will want to be involved. Please know that no matter the amount, we appreciate every gift.

    All contributions are fully tax-deductible according to IRS regulations and may be paid through cash, check, credit card or securities.
