  • Montessori Primary Care

Montessori Primary Care Program (MPC) offers care for Alcuin School Primary students after school. The emphasis of the program is to generate a sense of family and community and to deal with the practical daily needs of children of this age: outside play, the noon meal, nap, and free choice of work or play. This busy but predictable schedule provides a sense of security so important to this age group. This program is open to families where both parents work and need care for their child five days a week. MPC is open the full day (8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.) for those children registered on conference days and in-services days.

The afternoon routine at MPC involves lunch, naps for the younger group and resting time for the older group, outside play, snack between 3:30-4:00 p.m. and lots of fun. Every day we have music and movement and story time. Children do science experiments, exploration of nature, art projects, have access to many art mediums, sewing and weaving projects and many games.

    The different options are: 11:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m., 11:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. or 3:00-6:00 p.m.

  • After School Enrichment

After School Enrichment (ASE) offers care for students elementary aged and older. The emphasis of the program is to provide a creative and relaxing space for students to engage in play, projects or homework. ASE takes place in The Hive, and students are free to utilize the indoor and outdoor environments.

On typical school days, students arrive in the afternoons at 3:25 p.m. and may stay until 6:00 p.m. When Alcuin has early release, students are brought to After School Enrichment at their dismissal time. ASE Athletics provides care for those students who play on Alcuin’s athletic teams on practice and game days.

On in-service days and during Bridge times, students have access to all day care. Trips are planned for students on these days to allow them the opportunity to explore the Dallas-Fort Worth Area. Students who are not registered for After School Enrichment year round are welcome to sign up for Bridge time or the one-day trips throughout the school year. Bridge time offers a slightly shorter day, ending promptly at 5:30 p.m.
