The Alcuin Physical Education and Athletic programs are grounded in the belief that physical, emotional, and social development are all essential to a student’s growth. That journey begins in our signature Motor Development Lab, where students as young as three build foundational skills through purposeful movement. As students grow, our Physical Education program evolves with them – offering age-appropriate opportunities to build self-confidence, develop discipline, and discover a lifelong love for sports and wellness. This approach mirrors the values of our Montessori and IB philosophies: nurturing the whole student through positive encouragement, reflection, and meaningful challenge. While we are proud of our competitive teams and championship wins, we place equal value on growth, effort, and character development.
Competitive athletics begin in 5th grade and continue through high school at the TAPPS 2A level. More than 85% of Alcuin students participate in athletics, choosing from over 30 teams across nine sports. We are committed to providing opportunities for all students who are willing to dedicate themselves to their team. At Alcuin, we believe that the lessons learned through sport – teamwork, perseverance, responsibility, and sportsmanship – are vital not only for success on the field, but for a healthy, balanced, and purpose-driven life beyond it.
