Dear Alcuin community,

 

I grew up going to summer camp, and I still think about how much joy those early experiences brought into my life. Camp had a way of turning ordinary days into something magical, full of laughter, fresh air, new songs, and the kind of friendships that feel instant and lasting all at once. Years later, I returned to that same camp as a counselor, and that’s when it all clicked. There is nothing quite like watching a child walk into camp nervous and leave beaming, proud of themselves, connected, and excited for what comes next.

 

That love of joyful learning and childhood wonder carried me through college, where I majored in recreation, and into every role since, each one centered on creating experiences for children that are meaningful, playful, and full of light. In a true full-circle moment, summer camp even led me to my future husband, one more reminder that camp communities have a way of bringing unexpected gifts.

 

This summer will be my fourth at Alcuin, and each year I find myself thinking, this might be my favorite summer yet. The season is growing in exciting ways, with camp expanding by two weeks to offer families more flexibility and children more time to settle in, build friendships, and truly make camp feel like their place. Longtime favorites are returning, along with fresh new opportunities designed to keep days active, creative, and full of discovery. Alcuin Summer is also stepping forward with refreshed branding as Summer at Alcuin, and each camp is being shaped with its own unique identity and experience to help every child find a place where they feel excited, included, and inspired.

 

We're so excited to share another unforgettable summer with your children and continue creating experiences that spark confidence, joy, and friendships that last well beyond the summer.
