Campus Master Plan

Since 1964, Alcuin School has inspired, guided, and prepared generations of children. We have steadily grown into one of the most respected private schools in the region. But what about the next 50 years? Alcuin is expanding our proven excellence to encompass a child’s entire pre-college education. To do so, we must continue to enhance and improve our campus to benefit all our students.
 
We have made a bold transformation, but it is also a natural transition. With the introduction of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme for the Upper School, we are now able to teach children from when they’re ready to toddle to when they’re ready for college. The IB Programme is an ideal complement to our deep traditions in high-level Montessori. We are one of only a handful of institutions in the world offering this powerful combination of curricula.  We are thrilled to say that our first three graduating classes have had an exceptional 100% pass rate in the IB exams!
 
Now that we have completed the World Languages and Fine Arts Building and added the Field House, the new West Campus Building is opening this fall. It is a 27,000-square-foot extended learning environment designed to engage students in collaborative and individual growth.  It is a building for the whole community and will include the Upper School, Innovation Studio/Maker Space and, in the future, a new multi-purpose Performance Hall, and Central Administration offices.
 
The West Campus transformation is only one aspect of the master-planned transformation of our campus. To enhance the education of all our students, we will also thoroughly update our North and South Wings as time and funding permit.   Our outdoor spaces are essential elements of the learning experience at Alcuin, and we plan on making extensive enhancements.
