Seth Gonzales has been director of communications since 2019. However on tenure, his wife Lisa Gonzales, a toddler guide since 2004, has him beat by about two decades.
Gonzales came to Alcuin by way of an adventurous career path between public relations and journalism that saw him apply his trade in everything from college football to the nonprofit world. As a journalist, his most memorable story was covering Pope Francis’ visit to New York and Philadelphia in 2015. As a publicist, his proudest moment was getting the Rimington Trophy on national television during ESPN’s college football Game of the Week.
While his most frequently visited international city is Rome, where he once saw a stunning Champions League match between Real Madrid and Lazio, his 2017 visit to Alaska took his breath away. Along the way, Gonzales has met his share of celebrities including Buzz Aldrin, Jakob Dylan, Kevin Plank, and Drew Pearson to name a few. As a high school soccer player, he was lucky enough to be coached by a local legend, Tatu of the Dallas Sidekicks.
On campus, Gonzales can often be found with a smoothie in his hand, cameras on his shoulders, or herding his two young children to their classrooms.
