Rachana Takle

Math has been Takle's favorite subject since she can remember and her goal as a teacher is to share that passion with her students.
Rachana Takle has been teaching Middle School Mathematics at Alcuin School since Fall 2021. Math has been her favorite subject since she can remember and her goal as a teacher is to share that passion with her students, in the hope that they become more open-minded about exploring different techniques for reasoning and problem solving.

Takle holds a B.S. Psychology degree from UNC Chapel Hill and an MBA from UNC-Greensboro Bryan School of Business. She did not begin her career as a teacher, but rather as an accountant and human resource professional the in pharmaceutical, technology and education industries. She then became a stay-at-home mom and began volunteering as a substitute teacher. This initiated her career in teaching as she explored Montessori and IB curriculums for her own children.

Pre-pandemic, Takle was teaching MYP Mathematics at an IB World school in Pune, India. Her family relocated to Dallas in 2020 during the peak of the pandemic. She decided then to further develop her career as an IB teacher by completing her IB Educator Certification for the Middle Years Program (MYP) and the Diploma Program (DP) in 2020.  Her goal is to ensure that students in Alcuin School’s Middle School develop strong foundational skills in math as they enter Algebra and further mathematics.
