Carolyn Sells

Sells can be found spending time with her grandson, cooking, spending time with family and friends, doing community service, traveling, partner dancing with her husband, and talking with her mom.
Carolyn Sells is Associate Head of School for Elementary and Director of Lower Elementary.

She began her career in education in Kansas City, MO teaching computer-assisted instruction in math and language for middle school students. Since arriving at Alcuin in 1999, Sells has worn many hats during her tenure; Upper Elementary Guide, Director of Diversity, and Director of both Lower and Upper Elementary. Her greatest joy comes when observing in elementary classrooms, having occasional opportunities to give lessons, and collaborating with guides, families, and division directors to make sure children are given the best support for their own learning style.

Off campus, Sells can be found spending time with her grandson, cooking, spending time with family and friends, doing community service, traveling, partner dancing with her husband, and talking with her mom. But if she had her pick, Sells would choose a getaway to sandy white beaches.

An avid reader, Sells is constantly reminded why Montessori education is so valuable to children when picking up the latest education periodical or scrolling through her news feed.
