Alexandria Ede

Ede’s favorite pastimes include “getting into character” when reading to her two children and to the children of Alcuin.
Alexandria Chambers Ede (or “Ms. Alex”) is a Dallas native. She was in the music conservatory at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, completed her BA in American Studies and Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin, and she earned her Ed.M. in Arts in Education from Harvard University.

Ede is one of four Montessori-trained teachers in her family and began her time at Alcuin observing in Jennifer Garrett’s primary class during her training observation hours. She felt such a sense of tranquility as she watched the children move joyfully and freely about the classroom. This experience solidified her choice to become a Montessorian and she very gratefully took a position at Alcuin as Cynthia Centeno’s assistant after graduating from her AMI Primary diploma program at Montessori Institute of North Texas in 2016. After working as a primary assistant with Ms. Centeno, Ede became a Primary Guide at Alcuin and enjoyed partnering with Milagro Cruz.

Raising two precious children of her own, Ede made the decision to be a stay-at-home mother for three years. She missed her students at Alcuin but very much treasured her time focusing on her daughter, son and two dogs.

Now that her youngest child is primary-aged, Ede is loving working part-time in the Underhill Library with Margaret Dai.

Alex’s favorite pastimes include “getting into character” when reading to her two children and to the children of Alcuin; singing Medieval, Baroque, and Renaissance music; and teaching faith formation classes to 4–7-year-olds at her neighborhood church.
