Alcuin Parents

Alcuin School is not just a good place for children; it's a wonderful place for families. Parent involvement is an important element of the school community. Our families come together frequently throughout the year for celebration, planning, and education. These gatherings, made possible through Parents’ Club volunteers and staff collaboration, are important milestones for each school year.

• General Parents' Meeting – held at the beginning of each school year, consists of a meeting and classroom visits, followed by a social.
• Journey and Discovery – held in October of alternate years, a day-long experiential look at what and how the children are learning in the classroom
• Fall Festival – held in October, a carnival planned and conducted by middle school students
• Dads and Kids Breakfast – held in November, an early morning bagel and coffee breakfast in the Pavilion with dads and children
• Parent Observations and Chats – parents briefly hear from the division director who then accompanies them to observe in the classroom
• Grandparents' Day – held on the Friday before Thanksgiving, Alcuin School welcomes grandparents to campus to visit their grandchild(ren)’s classroom
• Book Fair – during the week before Thanksgiving, parents browse and select titles for the libraries and classrooms
• Winter Choir Concert – a Sunday in December when the entire community meets to celebrate the season in song
• Spaghetti Dinner – a Sunday dinner of pasta followed by games for the children and camaraderie for the adults
• The Annual Auction – the formal fundraising event held off campus in the spring
• International Festival—parent-created booths that represent the many nations of our community, displaying artwork and products of different countries
• Field Day – a day of outdoor activities and competition
• Moms and Kids Breakfast – held in May, dads prepare breakfast for mom and children
