We are grateful for the opportunity to gather once again to honor Alex Podeszwa and MINT while supporting the ongoing need for scholarships. The well-being of our guests is important to us so we will be seating six people at tables that normally seat ten and have taken the double ballroom at the Belo Mansion to allow for extra spacing between tables. We will also be adhering to the Belo Mansion’s masking policy – masks to be worn in the building except while seated at the table. Their staff will remain masked at all times. If you have any questions, please contact us at philanthropy@alcuinschool.org.
Case for Support
Your support directly benefits the whole Alcuin community. By supporting students in need of financial aid to attend Alcuin School, you are contributing to Alcuin's rich and diverse environment where all students can thrive.
One of our scholarship funds, the Alex Podeszwa Legacy Fund, was established by Alex’s parents in October 2014 in memory of an inspiring young man who was the embodiment of Alcuin's Mission – and who personified the motto “innovative thinkers and passionate learners” in being the person that we strive for each of our students to become.
Our inaugural Scholarship Celebration event was held the following October to honor Alex and raise awareness about the need for scholarships. We want to offer you the opportunity to contribute to Alex's vision of Alcuin by donating to one of our scholarship funds or sponsoring our next Scholarship Celebration event.
Together, we can be successful in raising critical scholarship funding. Thank you for celebrating Alex and his dreams with us!
This award was created by Alex’s parents to honor his memory. Alex loved his years as an Alcuin Hawk and his character and his life as a student here represented everything that the school wants Alcuin Hawks to be. Each year the teachers who knew Alex best choose the 8th grade student that best embodies the qualities and attributes of the Global Citizen that Alex was. We are delighted to present the 2021-2022 award to Abigail Tesfaye.
Ann R. Cox Innovation in Education Award
We are excited to announce Montessori Institute of North Texas (MINT) as our 2021-2022 Ann R. Cox Award recipient. MINT is the outgrowth of collaboration among area Montessori schools and teachers working to establish a permanent training center for all levels of development to serve the growing need for AMI-credentialed teachers in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex.
